Afternoon visit to a close to home lake

Many Saturdays I take a walk with the camera (and tripod) to see if the sunset is good. This is a lake at 20 minute walk from where I live. On a day like this I tipicaly spend 2 to 3 hours and take about 100 photos.
I will show you the output of this day.

First thing is to look to any foreground, this weed at an elevated border of the lake will do the job. All photos that day were taken with the Nikon D800, the Nikkor 14-24 and my RRS tripod, at least all the good ones.
My dog insisted on spoiling my foreground so I decided to try one with him included. Look at the difference in the postprocess and the first is at a wider setting than the second
Now with no foreground and more sky

Try horizontal too:

Change location closer to the water and try some vertical and horizontal variations

Also with less foreground and the clouds keep changing

Some verticals again, the sun is already gone and time to go home to the computer to see the results.
