If the temp is below 59 deg, the heaters will still cycle on and off depending on the outside air temp and how quickly the Cummins gets to warm. WebJun 3, 2024 · 40F/4C is NOT cold. 32F/0C is not cold... (No matter the elevation, the latitude and longitude and wind speed!). Your engine should not need a grid heater or a block heater at those temps. As the others have mentioned, you have something else going on if you have rough engine starts at those temps.
